Nancy Pelosi - The Gift That Keeps on Giving

For union leaders, liberal special interests and out of control state governments that refuse to make the tough choices to rein in spending and balance their budgets, Nancy Pelosi is the gift that keeps on giving.

Yesterday, she offered one of her biggest gifts of all – another $26 billion bailout bill financed by the American people. According to Pelosi, the bill will “create or save” 290,000 jobs. But how can she be believed when her last stimulus bill failed to move the needle on unemployment despite promises from her and the president that it would “save or create” millions of jobs?

Pelosi’s latest stimulus package will in fact make it harder for our economy to create jobs by imposing another $9.6 billion in tax increases to the growing tax bill already shouldered by American individuals and small businesses. Instead of getting government out of the way, Nancy Pelosi called the House back into session in the middle of the August recess to make it more difficult for American businesses to grow, invest in themselves and create jobs.

With every new tax increase, every new bailout, and every new government program, Nancy Pelosi adds more votes to the Republican column this fall and brings us closer to a new Republican majority in the U.S. Congress. By pushing for bailouts for government instead of tax relief for job creators, she has spelled the end of Democrat control of Congress and her tenure as Speaker of the House.

Finally, she has given the American people a gift worth receiving.
