Those Who Serve

In the everyday hustle and bustle of the 24 hour news cycle, we too often forget that the men and women who serve in Congress are not just politicians. The events of the past few days reminded us in heartbreaking fashion that those we elect to represent us were are someone’s mother, daughter, father or son long before they were become a Representative or Senator.

The sacrifices made by members of Congress to serve the people they represent are enormous. Those who step forward to run… Continue

Respect for the Constitution

With a simple step yesterday, the new Republican majority in the U.S. House showed that things are no longer business as usual in Congress.

For the first time in the history of the institution, the Constitution was read aloud on the floor of the U.S. House. From the preamble to the Bill of Rights and through all of the amendments, our nation’s founding document was read aloud by members of Congress from both parties.

A hallmark of the Pelosi Congress was its effort to enact… Continue

Words Into Action

Over the past two years, Republicans and energized conservatives worked tirelessly to bring change to Washington, D.C. The American people rose up, made their voices heard at the ballot box, and declared that they wanted an end to the wasteful Washington spending that was a hallmark of the Pelosi Congress.

Today, the new Republican majority in the U.S. House takes the first steps to getting our nation’s fiscal house back in order. Today, the will of the people as expressed at the polls… Continue

New Beginnings

Last November, millions of Americans took to the polls to elect new leadership to Congress and preserve the ideals that have guided our nation since it's founding. Today, the wishes of the people became reality as Members of the 112th Congress were sworn into office and a new Republican majority took control of the U.S. House of Representatives.

And not a moment too soon. Just last week the national debt soared to more than $14 trillion, a $1 trillion increase in the past seven months… Continue

Jan,
Thank you for your encouraging words. I am a forty-something mother of two teenagers and a former corp executive. Please continue your hard work in bringing us likeminded women together and also continue to let us know how we can get involved. I have a very strong desire to put my business skills to work for the betterment of our country as I stepped out of the job market to raise my children and be the one to instill these conservative values that all of us on the website hope to reclaim. I just need to know where they would be best put to use so if you have any suggestions, please forward them. God Bless

Thanks Jan! It was a pleasure meeting you yesterday as well, and I'm so glad you liked my Weekly Standard piece on Afghan Women. It was posted yesterday morning just before I left for the RWFF luncheon, so I was so pleased to hear Dana talk about the importance of the women's rights angle on the Afghanistan issue. The conference call with Liz Cheney sounds great -- I'm looking forward to it! Thanks so much for all the great work you're doing.
