Biography
Indiana State Representative Jackie Walorski was first elected to
office in 2004, vowing to bring conservative leadership and fiscal
discipline back to the Statehouse. In a short time, Jackie has
become a leader in the caucus, being appointed as Assistant Floor
Leader. She serves on the Family, Children, & Human Affairs and
the Public Policy committees.
Jackie was born and raised in St. Joseph County. She has lived and
worked in the district that she now represents, the southern
portion of St. Joseph County and some portions of Elkhart County.
She knows the people and the issues that are important to them.
Jackie graduated from Riley High School in 1981 and she received
her Bachelor of Arts from Taylor University in Communications and
Public Administration in 1985. She is married to Dean Swihart, who
teaches in Mishawaka.
If elected as U.S. Representative for Indiana’s 2nd district,
Jackie would be the first Republican Congresswoman elected in the
state of Indiana in over 50 years and just the second in state
history.
