Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito, WV-02
Shelley Moore Capito is currently a member of the 111th Congress
and represents the Second Congressional District of West Virginia.
She is known to be an independent voice of common sense solutions
who has established herself by putting West Virginia’s interests
first. Shelley is the only Republican and the only woman serving in
West Virginia's delegation.
The Congresswoman serves on the House Committee on Transportation
and Infrastructure and the House Committee on Financial Services
where she is the ranking member on the Subcommittee on Housing and
Community Development. She also serves on the Select Committee on
Energy Independence and Global Warming.
In February of 2010, Shelley, along with five other coal state
members, founded the Congressional Coal Caucus which has since
grown to 81 members. She also serves as Co-Chair of the Long-Term
Care Caucus where she continues to fight for the health care needs
