"You Asked and We Listened"

Yesterday, I had a great conversation with some of our Members of Congress about our terrific group of women candidates.  Our Members are looking forward to having more Republican women on the Hill speaking about issues that resonate with all Americans.

If you were chatting with our female candidates, what would you like to tell them and why?  Would you share your concerns for America’s future?  Or your solutions?

Here are my concerns:

1. If we don't pay attention to what is going on now the situation will get worse. We need to balance and pay attention to the local, county, state, national, and world events.
2. A good place to start researching Immigration law would be to go to the Thomas Law site and keyword Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996. You'll then have to balance it with any Supreme Court action that has been taken. Also look at the RealID act and look for SC precedence.
3. Oversimplification has caused alienation. I was a lifelong Republican who switched to Independent last year. I just moved and re-registered as an Independent. I've voiced my concerns; it's up to the GOP to convince me that the GOP is the best choice. I want to hear solutions, not catch phrases. If I only hear catch phrases, I'll put in my two cents on the solution. The great thing about being an American right now is I have the freedom to vote for whomever I choose.

With that said, we can't afford the tax increases. The breaks need to be extended, temporarily, and a better solution to keep jobs in America must be found. The mfg earnings report is going to make this a tough sell (at least for this week/today).
Y'no, what is so EXTREMELY frustrating is the ambivalent attitude of most people, I have found, even at work ... They're "at the mall" so to speak all the time... They can't be bothered to hear about the radical things that are happening on a daily basis to transform our country into the USS of A. How do we penetrate their consciences??? They are so removed, and forgive me, but selfish. All that matters is their vacation, their lawns, their cars, etc... It's like "DuH"
Linda, I completely appreciate your frustration. The majority of the companies I have worked at have a no religion and no politics in the workplace policy. To engage could result in termination.

In order to penetrate the consciousness HR needs to change. Considering their role is not to support the employee, rather protect the company, I doubt it will change. Is it frustrating, absolutely. With the pro-union stance in the WH right now, HR, and corporate leadership, may want to step off of the ledge, so to speak. The irony of this is the same corporate leadership I refer to are actually staunch supporters of the current administration. But I digress.
