Exactly, we need jobs.  We need the jobs to go to the citizens of the United States, in the United States.  If there is one skill set missing, then train for it.  We need to recognize all of the areas that are contributing to the unemployment rate and find solutions, not talking points, to fix it.

BTW, I funded my college with student loans and framed the letter when they were finally paid off - I fully appreciate the frustrations of college grads.  If you have an educational institution that you feel is not providing a sound education, then I suggest it be addressed with the institution.  If it is state run, then take it up with the state. If there is a language barrier, then the educational institution has an obligation to bridge it.  Pleases note, at no point in time did I bring accents or heritage into my portion of the discussion. My focus is on jobs for the unemployed.

My point in all of this is simple - the best way to bring down unemployment is to hire a citizen who is unemployed.  If they are missing a skill then I think that companies should invest in the skill sets they are looking for with someone who is un or under-employed. Yes, students need jobs, along with many of their college educated parents who seem to be overlooked in the discussion.

If the person holds a green card and meets the criteria, then hire them.  We really need a more focused effort to employ those who are actively seeking work which is something that both the private and public sector can facilitate - without adding to the deficit, which can be done.

And as for debt reduction - from my conservative view point, yes, it needs to happen and is pretty much a gimme in the discussion that needs to be had.  When you look at a lot of the expenditures that make no sense then factor in the numerous twists and turns of governmental bureaucracies, it simply amazes me that the federal government can get any work done.  This makes no sense - create a department to study a department to study another department that has an oversight committee that watch over departments 2  & 4 while committee 5 looks into creating department 68, and on, and on and on.  Lets not forget about the oversight committee formed to watch over the oversight committee and the special departments that have been created to resolve issues that should be managed by departments 29-40?  Don't forget to do this in triplicate, please.  Good grief!

Finally, if you look at some of the bills sitting in committees, you would find that what I'm saying about investing in our employees is no different than many proposals that have been put forward by conservative legislators and went no where the last two years.  This brings me to what I think the RNC can do for the 212th - start advocating these ideas as aggressively as the RNC advocates everything else.  Why is it that I have to dig through the committees to find out what common sense legislation has been proposed from the GOP for the past two+ years when I should be able to come to the RNC web-site(s) to get my information, be they local, state, or federal?  I'm really not interested in talking points as they have done nothing to 'fix' the problem, I want to see results and attempts made to bring forward those results.

With that said, the question was which of the campaign promises do I think should be kept.  My answer was jobs creation and my concern that the unemployed were being over-looked because they lacked one skill-set on their resume and how employers are addressing the missing skill-set.  If you truly want to bring down the cost of unemployment, then start hiring the unemployed and invest in them.

I wish you all the best and please start looking at what your elected officials have in committee.

JV, Amen. We need jobs and we need American companies giving us these jobs.

I agree with companies in the U.S. not wanting to hire Americans.  Look, why would they?  Look at all the laws they have to obey.  Hire legal/illegal immigrants and the heck with us.  That is all there is too it.  How many shows have we watched and we see where they have hardly any Americans working in America?

The laws are such that these companies pay big money to our representatives to do what they do.  Can you stop them?  Not hardly, not when our reps get money from these hoods.  These guys (companies) are like the mafia.  They own.

Why are we paying for them to move out of this country?  Why are we paying for their advertisements in other countries after we lost the jobs?  You think the representatives are going to say anything at all to the people south of us?  I don't think so, Presidents Bush, Obama, Clinton would never do it.  The Hispanic voters would kick them where it hurts.

We have to fix these problems, we have to fix the border - our reps will not even touch it.

We really need jobs.  We need to get the big monkey off our back which is China.  I know the politicians are afraid of them but we better deal with this problem and quick!

They own us.  That is plain and simple and when they start dictating what we will or will not do, then the country is no longer ours.  We better face them, get them paid off, so we can get these people off our backs!

Jobs, this healthcare plan, deficit, lack of caring on local, state, federal levels are at a frightening level.  When these politicians sent our jobs overseas did they ever, ever stop to think that this is where the tax base was going as well?  I mean does anyone ever think ten or 20 years down the road?  Are we that stupid that if our jobs leave this country, that we lose tax-based income money as well?

I cannot believe the mess we find ourselves in and it makes me sick.  And even worse, I really think this was created by large corporate business owners/CEOs who gave donations to those that were really supposed to represent us!  I do not think this problem can be fixed to tell you the truth.  And I do not NOT hear the republicans trying to tell the people on the radio, TV and internet what must be done.  They are going to have to take this tiger by the tail and fix this mess and they should have been out there a long darn time ago screaming it to the public.

Jan:  I am concerned that we have not seen any post or emails from you since January 7th.

I hope we are still standing strong and fighting to replace Obama and anyone else who does not support this country.

What is our game plan for the 608 days that remain?

It seems we've been forgotten since the leadership change.  :(
I was thinking the same thing.  Who is the top-ranking female at RNC these days?  They are so out of touch with anyone outside the Beltway, that I am not sure they even care.

There is a group called 912 Loveland here in Colorado which does a fine job addressing your concern "Why is it that I have to dig through the committees to find out what common sense legislation has been proposed from the GOP for the past two+ years when I should be able to come to the RNC web-site(s) to get my information, be they local, state, or federal?" They list bills in our state congress and it is up to me to DO something.

Hopefully web sites like 912 Loveland and this rncwomen will spur others to DO something.
