Failing to extend the Bush tax cuts will result in a $3.8 billion tax increase.  How will your family compensate for the government keeping more of your money?

Well my husband just got notice that he'll be laid off 12/23/2010 (Merry Christmas huh), so we'll be making a WHOLE lot less money next year... hopefully, drop us down a bracket or two.... if the country doesn't descend into complete anarchy before 2012, maybe we'll be able to get the Marxists out of the government.
I hate to say this but this is happening all over America to hard working people that just want to have just enough to provide for their families. I have some friends that worked with the company for about ten to twenty years and they were let go also. The company was downsizing and no longer had there positions open. They were able to find new jobs but they have to start all over again in order to have some type of vacation time or even time off.
I am sure that your husband won't lower himself by collecting unemployment. I can't believe the Democrats want to extend benifits - it just makes people lazy and prevents them from looking for a job. Unemployment is another one of those socialist ideas. It is too bad jobs get shipped overseas, however, corporations need to make profits.
If a person is laid off, they are NOT lowering themselves if they need unemployment, that's what it's for. When it keeps getting extended and people just start living off of it, then, yes there is a problem.
I'm so sorry to hear your husband was laid off. I've been on that path and trying to rebound w/out getting laid-off myself. I'll keep you in my prayers.
I think that this president hates us so much and he wants us to depend on the government only for every need. My God supplies all my needs and I depend on Him for everything.
Amen!!
It sounds like the cuts will be extended for people earning under $250,000 - that will help the deficit and help us folks who are not wealthy. I haven't noticed the trickle down theory helping us that much. Did you read about the lavish parties they are throwing on Wall Street? As far as government goes, they mess in everything. We should be able to smoke wherever we want, pass other cars without following those warning signs, and eat whatever we want to eat. For that matter if you don't want to send your child to school why should you have to do that? A lot of these rules just benifit those wealthy health nuts you see jogging by in their expensive clothing.
You do realize that many small business' fall into that income catagory?

I think this research may help you understand why you are wrong.

We will continue to do what we are doing now - pinching pennies!!! And those pennies are really starting to bruise!! But you can only do so much, when you know the worst is yet to come.
I'm with you, Teri...we have NO extra spending and have cut ALL expenses.
will have to get another job to pay for it.
