"You Asked and We Listened"

If Congress extends the Bush tax cuts, and you are able to keep more of your hard-earned dollars, how do you think this will help to stimulate the economy?

Decrease taxes and government spending and power and watch the economy grow!

You've got that right, Michelle!

I agree with you Michelle. We saw it happen under Reagan. Now we need to pick up where he left off and create a new time of prosperity and hope for America, one that will last generations and provide bounty so great that our longest visions into the future won't see its end. One in which America will continue to reap the rewards with ages of greater freedom of spirit and prosperity than we can yet imagine. It's possible and that is my hope for the U.S. this Christmas season.  I believe we can put our blessed nation on that path if we the people so choose.

Amen! I pray that God will do exceedingly above all you hope for and imagine!

When my daughter, who turned 13 on Thursday was little, she used to say "Imagine it true."  I love that saying and the faith that children have in the possibilities offered by the world. We need some of that faith today to help carry us through these difficult days and those that still lie ahead of us.

I think of the expression, too, that "a life unexamined is not worth living." Well, perhaps, that is what is occurring to our nation right now. We rose quickly with too little introspection about our understanding of what made us the greatest nation ever formed. To rise to a new level I believe we must seek out what works, what and who have failed us, and learn from those experiences and events. Once we have then we can rise to the next level and continue growing in a positive direction. If we get it right I believe we will once again leap forward adn these dark days will be seen as a cleansing period.

By combining both messages i see another positive connection for us all in our world " imagine its true that life is worth living because if you examine that idea it becomes true! "

I like it!

I'm not an economist or social scientist except in theory! The tax cuts may improve the government spending and encourage people to value their hard earned salaries. A social viewpoint is that people referred to as "lazy" may be earning less than they believe is appropriate for their needs or maybe feeling used by their employers and the politicians who have "profit motives" that doesn't include the workers better interest.

Well, it appears that the Bush Taxes will be extended for 2 years, however, what good is it with ADDED PORK!!   I don't think we won!  Deficit will continue to go higher, and in this tax deal are subsidies that are a waste!  I am extremely disappointed in the GOP.

ALARM, ALARM  there is a new monster that congress wants to pass over the next three days: " THE OMINIBUS SPENDING BILL" before they leave for the holiday or not return!!  OMG!!! Forget about the tax cut, we will have to pay higher taxes sooner than later because of this monster congress and senate in office are trying to crash through before their time is up December 2010!!! God save us!!!!

Yes, this needs to be addressed - AFTER the tax hike bill. Please don't let last ditch efforts sway the priorities.  First, pass the tax hike bill, THEN focus on the Omnimess bill.

Ladies, if you are having trouble sleeping tonight, this link will take you to the Omnimess -

I see START is on the Senate floor.

Write the house on the tax hikes, please - and all on the Omnimess.

This was dropped.  They voted to extend the current package.  Hopefully, they will actually set a budget soon.
